Shanyelle is the Broker, Owner, and Founder of S Young Realty & Associates. She began her real estate career over 19 years ago as an agent for Gillette Real Estate which ignited her evolution to be the experienced and compassionate Realtor and Broker that she is today. Shanyelle is a graduate of The University of Connecticut where she earned her degree in Economics and Sociology. She was recently recognized as a winner of the prestigious Hartford Business Journals 2021 Women in Business Award, characterizing her influence as an accomplished woman in Real Estate.
Shanyelle has been able to utilize her influence within real estate to affect crucial social change and initiate important discussions related to various social issues she is passionate about. Her excitement for public education is exhibited through her role on the University of Connecticut Alumni Council focused on support underrepresented students at UConn.
She is also dedicated to advancing housing equity throughout the state of Connecticut through her position on the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Realtors Association. In line with her passion for advancing racial equity in Real Estate, Shanyelle serves as a member of the National Association of Realtors Fair Housing Committee. She recently stepped into the role as President-elect for the Central Hartford women council of real estate chapter.
Shanyelle has been a member of the First Cathedral Church in Bloomfield, CT for 21 years, where she has served as a Sunday school teacher for the Children’s and Women’s Ministry and now as an advisor of the Diaconate Bereavement Ministry. She also holds a CT Insurance Agent license, allowing her to assist her husband of 28 years, Brent Young, in his Insurance Agency in Manchester, CT.
Shanyelle’s greatest blessings are her 3 children. She is a mother of 27-year-old twins, Brent Jr. and Shaylyn. Brent is a Dr of Chiropractor and Shaylyn is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst for Autistic children and a children’s book author. Her youngest son, Shane, recently graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Business and is currently an Investment Banking Analyst with Goldman Sachs in New York.
